The following is an update on the implementation for the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code:

The Pennsylvania General Assembly has been passing legislation to amend the UCC. The House passed HB 2668 that effectively removing the code requirements for repairs, alterations, and additions to residential structures. In addition, the Senate moved SB 1139 that makes numerous changes to the UCC.  These legislative changes severely weaken the UCC and subject PA residents to the potential for substandard construction practices.  Please visit the House of Representatives web site at http://www.house.state.pa.us/ to view the legislative changes.  Additional information and comments from the PA Builders Association can be viewed on their website at http://www.pahomes.org.
